Dr. Nicholas Froumis received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1999, where he graduated cum laude. After working in a research laboratory at the Jules Stein Eye Institute for two years, he continued his education at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry.
After completing externships at the Sacramento and Palo Alto Veteran Affairs clinics, in addition to the Point West and Oakland Kaiser Permanente Hospitals, he received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2005. He graduated with highest honors and was awarded the prestigious Golden Retinoscope award for outstanding clinical performance.
Dr. Froumis is passionate about optometry and has appeared on public access television to promote the field. His specific areas of interest include contact lenses and ocular pathology, and he has received certification for the treatment of glaucoma. He is thrilled to be back in the Bay Area with his wife and daughter. He enjoys various sports and is also an avid distance runner, rarely missing a day in the past 10 years. In 2011, Dr. Froumis had Lasik surgery and is thrilled with his results.
