Dr. Connie Chen is a Bay Area native and attended UC Berkeley for both her undergraduate and optometric degrees. While at Berkeley Optometry, she trained at the Veteran Affairs Clinics in San Jose and Monterey, Marin Community Clinic, and Meredith Morgan Eye Center. Upon graduation, she was granted the Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care for her school by the American Academy of Optometry Foundation.
Her passion for contact lenses led her to complete the Cornea and Contact Lens Residency at the University of Houston College of Optometry. There she gained invaluable experience in medically necessary complex contact lens fittings, such as scleral and corneal rigid gas permeable lenses. Additionally, she provided care in the myopia control clinic, where she enjoyed working with children and their families on managing myopia with orthokeratology, multifocal soft contacts, and atropine.
Dr. Chen is the 2021 Sheldon Wechsler Contact Lens Residency Award Recipient from the American Academy of Optometry Foundation (AAOF) for demonstrating passion and commitment to the advancement of vision science and clinical care. is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, and Santa Clara Optometric Society. She is dedicated to providing excellent optometric care and looks forward to seeing patients for their primary eye exams, contact lens fittings, eye disease treatment/management, and myopia control. She is certified to fit Coopervision MiSight 1 day and Paragon CRT lenses.
During her free time, Dr. Chen enjoys hiking, taking her dog on long walks, and exploring the Bay Area.
