Eye Examinations and Testing

At Dr. Gary Gold and Associates, we offer complete eye examinations from children to the geriatric patient.

To provide you with the highest quality of care, we utilize advanced technology in our examinations and vision testing. We offer computerized diagnostic and testing equipment, including a Humphries/ZEISS corneal topographer. We also offer advanced Optomap® retinal examinations, which facilitates the early detection of disorders and diseases evidenced in the retina.

The Optomap® Retinal Exam is unique in that it gives us a much larger view (200 degrees) of the back of the eye - your retina - than conventional eye exam equipment. The images can be taken without dilating your pupils - a very common procedure which is uncomfortable and inconvenient for many people.

The Optomap image is displayed immediately after being taken, allowing the eye care professional to review it quickly and if necessary, refer you to a retinal specialist. Using the Internet, the image can be sent anywhere in the world for a specialist to review.

Each Optomap image is as individual as fingerprints or DNA and can provide us with a unique view of your eye health very quickly and comfortably. The Optomap image is captured in less than one minute and is immediately available for you and the doctor to review.

The Optomap Retinal Exam offers many advantages including:

Stylish and functional sunglasses are available in prescription lenses, including our two most popular, Maui Jim and Oakley. We also provide safety eyewear for job-related protection.

Our licensed opticians have a combined experience of over 75 years and we utilize the newest technology available. We utilize premium labs for lens fabrications and offer the highest quality coatings available, including Zeiss and Varilux progressive lenses.

Surgery Co-management and Treatment

We offer laser vision correction, including co-management of refractive surgeries, as well as glaucoma evaluation and visual field testing. Our doctors also provide treatment for treatment of eye infections & allergies.

Our doctors are highly experienced in all areas of contact lens fitting and our office features one of the largest selections of contact lenses for trial fitting in stock. We offer contact lenses of all types, ranging from the basic to astigmatic, and therapeutic lens designs as necessary for the medical purposes.
