Our Doctors
Gary M. Gold, O.D.
Dr. Gold graduated from the California School of Optometry, Berkeley, in 1977. Soon after he graduated, he joined the practice of Dr. Irving Kass. Dr. Gold assumed ownership of the practice in 1981 and retained the same loyal patient base, even developing it into a thriving primary eyecare office. After being in practice for over 20 years, we anticipate only further growth and success for the practice without compromising patient care and dedication. Dr. Gary Gold & Associates celebrated its 28th anniversary in our new location.
Dr. Gold has been a member of the California Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association since 1978. He received his State Therapeutic Drug license in 1999.
Peite Ting, O.D.
Dr. Ting
received her Bachelor of Arts in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University
of California, Berkeley in 1996. She continued her education at Southern California
College of Optometry in Fullerton.
Completing internships at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA, Southwest Vision
Services, Las Vegas, NV, and the Albuquerque Veterans Affairs facility in Albuquerque,
NM she received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2000.
Dr. Ting holds licenses as follows: National Board of Examiners in Optometry:
Treatment and Management of Ocular Diseases, 1999; Patient Care, 2000,California
State Board, Optometry, 2000, California State Board, Therapeutic Drug, 2000.
Ann Kinoshita, O.D.
Dr.
Ann Kinoshita became our associate doctor in 1993. Graduated from California
School of Optometry, Berkeley, in 1991, she completed a primary care residency
with an emphasis on ocular disease form the Pennsylvania College of Optometry,
Philadelphia. Dr Kinoshita is a member of the American Optometric Association,
the California Optometric Association and the Santa Clara County Optometric
Society. In 1996 she was voted the Santa Clara Society’s “Young OD of the Year."
Nicholas Froumis, O.D.
Dr. Nicholas Froumis received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1999, where he graduated cum laude. After working in a research laboratory at the Jules Stein Eye Institute for two years, he continued his education at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry.
After completing externships at the Sacramento and Palo Alto Veteran Affairs clinics, in addition to the Point West and Oakland Kaiser Permanente Hospitals, he received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2005. He graduated with highest honors and was awarded the prominent Golden Retinoscope award for outstanding clinical performance.
Dr. Froumis is passionate about optometry and has appeared on public access television to promote the field. His specific areas of interest include contact lenses and ocular pathology. He is thrilled with his move to the Bay Area with his wife and twin children. He enjoys various sports and is also an avid distance runner, rarely missing a day in the past 10 years.
Joan Jen, O.D.
Dr. Joan Jen received her Bachelor of Science in biology with an emphasis on Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior from the University of California, Davis in 2000. She continued on with her education at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry. After completing various externships, including Palo Alto and Portland Veterans Affair hospitals, Vandenberg Air Force Base, and the Alameda County Medical Center, she received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2005.
In addition to experience with general optometry, she has worked for various LASIK centers in Northern California. Dr. Jen is National Board certified and holds licenses as follows: Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease 2004; Patient Care, 2005, California State Board of Optometry, Therapeutic Drug, 2005.
